Mission Statement: Do you have a site dedicated to your favorite movie, music or sports star or other celebrity? If you do, you might have felt "safe" putting up your site. After all, you were sure the star would be flattered and quite happy you support him or her. And who wouldn't enjoy sharing your enthusiasm? Unfortunately, the lawers working for the company they work for. Many fan sites have been shut down due to lawyer intimidation. What many fans don't know is, many of these shut-downs were in fact illegal and in violation of a fan's rights! That's right, lawyers have went above and beyond the law, preying on innocent, uninformed victims, most of whom are not quite out of high school. They expect fans to not know a thing about the law. Thus, they know people will back down immediately and give in to their demands for fear of being pulled into court, fined more money than they ever hope to have, and maybe even jailed. Fans fear big corporation lawyers because they have tons more money than they will ever hope to have, and in the United States justice is not free ! What this site hopes to do is inform fans about what the laws really say, how to avoid getting big-time lawyer's attention in the first place, and if you were unlucky enough to do just that, how to handle intimidating and threatening letters. There is also a legal terms page you can make a part of your site, and a support banner program. Stand up for what you believe and don't let yourself be intimidated! Fans have a right to enjoy the entertainment of their choice without their enjoyment being controlled by people with too much money!
